Join our campaign to save Nursing at the University of Glasgow!
The University of Glasgow has proposed to close the School of Nursing as part of its recently announced cuts.
We are fighting this proposal for the following reasons:
- The course has been rated in the Top Ten in the Times Higher Good University Guide.
- The School has been rated No1 in the National Student Survey (including gaining a score of 100% student satisfaction)
- During the most recent intake the course had around 900 applicants for only 45 places, it is extremely popular and oversubscribed
- Graduates from the Nursing and Health Care School are very highly sought after and many have been headhunted by centres of excellence.
- The degree is science based and so unique in the West of Scotland.
- Graduates have a 99% employment rate 12 months after graduation
- The department is a profitable one
